Bowler Hat Theatre Company
was formed in 2001 by Liam Butler and Michael Power, and was inspired by the Demon Drink. The two experienced performers had
the aim of providing non-mainstream drama and musicals for local audiences, and they shared an ambition to stage their
productions with the best possible cast, musicians and crew available for a non-professional organisation. The group's credits
to date include Stephen Sondheim's "Assassins", the Irish Premiere of "Chess In Concert" by Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus and
Tim Rice, a non-competitive appearance in the 2002 Waterford International Festival Of Light Opera, in collaboration with Lumen,
and two one act plays, written by well known local playwrights Jim Nolan and Pat Daly, together with Waterford Dramatic Society.
